The Values We Keep

For hc1's 2023 end-of-the-year video, I took a lot of inspiration from the editing style of The Bear, especially that first episode montage where there are are vintage family photos over black edited to the music's beat. I love the nostalgic and scrapbook feel of the edit and I had a blast getting more creative with last years video edit.

For this project, I came up with the idea to focus on hc1's core values. I scheduled interviews, operated all equipment on shoot days, created Youtube and Instagram reels out of the footage, and edited the final video.

Why Labs Trust hc1

A lot of research went into this video, and the goal was to not just tell hc1's story, but to define and visualize hc1 unique super power in it's industry. There were many meetings with different people at different levels of management at hc1, and I learned so much about lab management and what exactly hc1 does and does best. The project was originally labeled the "Superpower Project", and it's language and story that I helped craft are now being use company wide to sell and describe what hc1 does. The current title of the video came to after everything was completed and finished.

Motion graphics and editing was done by me. B-roll is licensed to hc1 from Artgrid.

History Corner Trivia Series
This videos series was my favorite project I ever worked on at hc1. My team and I were tasked with figuring out how to showcase our culture in an engaging and creative way. Something unique about hc1 is that the has meeting rooms that are named after individuals who've made profound achievements in the medical field. I combined this fun office fact with my love of edu-tainment, and History Corner Trivia was born!
I researched each person, wrote the game questions, found creative costuming, I operated all equipment on multiple shoot days, I edited every video, and made all the graphics. This series allowed me to showcase my humor and utilize a more YouTube style of editing that is very popular. There are eight videos in this series, these are just two of my favorites. you can find the full series on hc1's Vimeo and Youtube.
Convention Booth Video

This video was part of a larger booth design project where I was asked to come of with a art style, booth design, counter design, and video to match. I was inspired by isometric art styles and wanted to include those elements while keeping everything on brand. Because the purpose of this video was to attract people to our booth, the video needed to work with no sound at all, so text had to be big, animation had to be eye catching, and hc1's story had to be clear.

Come Work for hc1!

This is one of the most fun videos I've been able to create! This is a promo I created to help attract future employees to the hc1. I helped with the script and budgeting for the rented camera equipment. I scheduled filming times and locations then set up lighting, audio and did the camera work. Using the Adobe Suite, I edited, color corrected, sound mixed, and masked-out logos.

Rollerskate to Liberate Motion Graphics

I animated motion graphics for the non-profit Rollerskate to Liberate. They are a fantastic organization that works to raise awareness of and stop human trafficking. Their branding is gorgeous and was very fun to work with. I animated an intro for them and two animated transitions.

hc1's 10 Year Anniversary

This is a culture video for hc1 that I got to have flex some creative muscles for. Because most people are work-from-home I had to think of a way to put this video together without any recent video of employees. I settled on a scrapbook, grungy feel that was so much fun to put together and animate.

hc1's Vision for Precision Health

For this video, I had the opportunity to travel and interview true thought leaders in the healthcare space. I had such a wonderful experience and on top of that, I had a lot of fun with the challenge of crafting a story through the interviews I conducted.

High-Value Care

The challenge of this video was that the interviewee's had been filmed with the old hc1.com logo on the wall behind them. Within a couple days I learned how to mask objects out of a shot and a couple other neat tricks. Again, I filmed, set up audio, set up lighting, edited together the story, and created the motion graphics. I loved having a challenge and learning something new a long the way!

Opioid Advisor

I couldn't wait to make this video because I knew it would be graphics heavy and presented some new challenges which always means I get to learn a new skill. For this video I did research on screen-tracking and replacement. I also did the voice work for this video as wall as the

Cardinal Appreciation

This video was made to show appreciation for the Ball State administration. I scheduled interviews, filmed them, edited them together and created the motion graphics.

Me to We Competition Submission - Katherine Shelton

I created this video for Katherine Shelton as her submission to Me to We for a chance to travel to India. This video was the most fun I've ever had filming b-roll. Katherine wrote the script herself and then left the direction to me. I recorded audio, did the cinematography, and edited it together.
